Auntie is going to kick yer butt a little, so if you aren’t into real life encouragements, I request you hang out with somebody else. Regardless of the avenue of finance you create, you must find ways to ‘smartly’ make things easier and more conducive to ‘cost control’ (OK, Granny said, ‘belt tightening’) and WHATEVER YOUR INDUSTRY, a greater awareness of the percentage of income spent, to achieve ‘what?” goal of: happiness, love, health, nurturing, assistance, support, or world peace; decides what value your activity and joy of achievement, will fulfill. I’m a happier person with horses in my life. If your list has the joy of riding (see previous home page), this is the site for you. I wanted to do the ‘leasing’ of fine equine athletes about 10 years ago. It was warmly received, but not popular. I knew it would work. Now it’s prevalent in the industry. I’m assuming almost anyone with an extreme athlete, ready to try another level, would consider leasing. The ‘suits’ (CPA’s, etc) have this down pat and it is a new era of affordability in the horse world. I am so pleased they made this happen. It is the way of really talented athletes. Once you get a pet up there, it’s really hard to let them go forever. Plus, what if they are good for you, and GREAT for someone else? This helps with additional rewards in all kinds a’shapes and forms. We like that! Me-likey!! Most assuredly, it is a talented human that will grow from the equine athleticism of your favorite mount and they will lease ‘up’ the next year. SO MUCH EASIER THAN BUYING AND SELLING! However, like I have always said, “ If you meet an athlete that fits your life, stop looking”. A friend like that can be with you most of your life. (Sorry, your adult life that is.) One or two good friends that you ride will stay you in good times or bad, thick or thin, flush or fat; they’ll be there. I used to skip dinner and ride my mares through the hills. By the time I got back to the house, I was too tired to eat. I’m a happier person with horses in my life. I hope you are, too. I found a way to feel really good and it made me healthier, too. Do it! If you’ve read the home page in the last year, you know I got my Contractor’s License summer of ’07. Just like everything of good fortune (and hopefully, yours) I got into Light Gage Steel framing in an industry that deserved a belt tightening. Look at the photos and link to the web site. I’m in a segment that’s green, renewable, 1/3 the weight, and three times stronger. If it’s being built, it’s in light gage steel. Even if you know nothing about building, design, construction, engineering…WHATEVER! You can do this ‘erector set’. Just out of curiosity you should check out the way residential and light industrial (Dr+DDS office) is going in the future. You could frame a cute little guest cottage in no time and spend pennies on the dollar. If it’s being framed, it’s in light gage. Somebody told me if we stopped using wood for building, it could stop global climate change in ten years. I’d really like someone to contact me and tell me if this is true. There are SO MANY benefits, once again. Check out the link. My really close friends know I fell and hit my head again in Aug of 2006. This was the fourth head injury and the third one, off my mare, changed my life for 17 years (greatly). Number four (you know I’m Irish, right?) corrected all the previous. (Including the ‘swing’ when I was five.) First thing I did? Get my license; took 11 months, worked part-time, and taught myself math. Two weeks later, one morning, I had a major portion of a screenplay in my head that had disappeared after head injury number two. (That’s the time I woke up in the hospital with the priest giving me last rites and my Mother saying, ‘Goodbye’. I had become conscious, briefly aware, as the two orderly’s had stripped me (I was 21) in order to x-ray me and I’d like to thank them right now. I didn’t really think I was all that good looking but your words to me as I died, my Mother’s voice, and prayer, brought me back. Thank you.) Head injury number two changed my life and number four gave it back to me. So, I jumped onto the computer and the screenplay ran out of me like a waterfall. Couldn’t stop it. I did research and wrote almost all my free time, day and night. No dates, nobody. A scant four months later, I was done. (See link: Butch’s Place in the Sun). I bought a program to ‘format’ screenplays. I had a past life ‘run’ many times and dreamed of over and over. Bang now IT’S in my head like a ton of bricks. Not believing I could just ‘write’ movies, I bought a second program that ‘formats’ your thoughts. Yee HAA! Me-likey! I formatted the ‘story’ and quickly realize, with a little thought, it’s TWO screenplays. The story starts South Carolina two weeks before Sherman, in 1865 and ends two weeks before he comes back. Again, just flowed like a lazy river from my dreams to my hands. (Four leaf clovers are my favorite flower.) I finished in six months, fall of ’08. My girlfriend (30ish, now, 10 when I met her.) reminds me of stories I told the ‘young’ins’ in my life (nieces nephews friends kids) about ‘Wild Will and Anne’. Bingo! If I make it a ‘trilogy’, it fits right into ‘Connor Canyon’ and ‘Westward Ho the Canyon’. I’m counting on you telling me what you think of the chapters and if you want to hear more. Follow the link but try ‘Connor Canyon’ first. It really is a good story. I’m counting on people I trust to tell me if I can make it as a writer. (What? You think this ‘trust’ thing only goes one way? All the income you helped me make; you think I wouldn’t trust you, too? ‘COUSE I WOULD!) You guys are my buddies and I want to encourage you to look to the good, have a spontaneous positive response, and remember; there are no small upsets, they are all equally important to your piece of mind. Have fun, read a piece of my screenplays. I’ve finished the end of the trilogy, ‘Wild Will and Anne’ but need to review and dream on it a bit more. Got three more ready to tumble out my brain, “Santa and Mrs. Clause Save the World’ (comedy w/a message), ‘Hydra, O’Dume and Party’ (an animated children’s sci-fi), The Promise (Adolescent bank heist set in Germany on Ponies…very cool.), and a “Kelly’s Hero’s, meets Nat’l Treasure by the Goonies.” See? That’s four. I’m working three jobs and I so love to write. Tell me if this is ‘it’ for me. Lastly? Your gonna love this one. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is such a good movie. BUT as you know from the ads, it starts with him being born as an 80 yr old man. We came out of the movie and we all looked at each other with, ‘how was he BORN an 80 yr old man?’ The movie said nothing about that. I told everyone in the restaurant, ‘I know’ and (the following DOES NOT give away from the movie. I wouldn’t do that) it’s ‘THE CURSE OF THE BUTTONS’. I proceeded to wind the fable and finish it at the beginning of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. They loved it. The encouragement to make it real (tell someone) was quite positive and good but the suits would sue me even though I basically have nothing. I wrote a sequel to ‘Oceans 13’ and called their people to offer it to them so if they hear about it (everything is registered with Screenwriter’s Guild West) they know I’m trying to add to their creation; if possible.
